Shree Swaminarayan Temple Kalupur is the first Temple, the Swaminarayan Sampraday. It is located in Kalupur area of Ahmedabad, the largest city in Gujarat, India. It was built on the instructions of Swaminarayan, the founder of the sect on 24th February 1822. The temple is carved in Burmese teak, and every arch and bracket are painted with bright colors, a defining characteristic of Swaminarayan temples everywhere.
